The Beauty Within Northern Pakistan
There are instances, in involving the consistent search for deals and destination concepts, when a excellent outdated fashioned travel narrative catches my eye and I’m drawn in for a single reason or an additional. This report over at Travelmag, did just that.
The author, considering that remaining laid off, determined to see it as an opportunity to travel (sounds like somebody I could get along with) he and his wife received in their Land Cruiser and took off. Their goal is to drive from London to Singapore, (they are currently in Myanmar) a stretch of forty,000 miles or a lot more “depending on how substantially [they] get misplaced.” Stick to them at their web page, fittingly titled “No Work Will Travel.”
This post tells of their time in Northern Pakistan. Their journey started on the mind blowing feat that is the Karakoram Highway, then to the warmth of the people in the Hunza Valley, eating the community delicacies, fishing in the Ishkoman River, and ultimately celebrating Pakistan’s Independence Day.
What struck a chord with me, getting very little knowledge there, and mindful of the constant barrage of U.S. media shops, was the observation that, “few travelers dare to read through past the heavy handed articles or blog posts of the Pakistan-wary media these that do invariably fall head more than heels for this pleasant and wonderful land.”
On second believed, I’m certain we’d get along.
